Are you tired of the same old tourist spots along the Gulf Coast? Looking for something more unique and off the beaten path? Look no further, as the inside scoop on hidden gems is waiting to be discovered between Hattiesburg, MS, and Mobile, AL. I traveled to Bay St. Louis for a quick weekend getaway a few weeks ago. This trip was planned to try something new in a town I had heard about. So what did we do? Let me give you the rundown.
First, we booked a precious tiny home Airbnb, which is linked here. The house was small yet offered the perfect room for two people. After arriving in town, we noticed a trend: Golf Carts were everywhere! We knew this meant we had to rent one. Multiple local businesses rent golf carts either by the hour or the day, and since we were staying overnight, we opted for the one-day rental. The golf cart made parking, travel time, and exploring a breeze. After we got our cart, we were ready to start the adventure!

Of course, we started the weekend with food. We made our first stop at 200 North Beach Restaurant and Bar. I ordered oysters and a Caesar salad, and my boyfriend got chicken and waffles. Let's say both plates were empty by the time we left.

After lunch, we explored the town's many unique shops—from antiques to boutiques—and had enough shopping. We then went to Creole Creamery On The Bay for some ice cream. I chose the King Cake flavor and have never tasted anything so heavenly!

After starting the sugar rush, we decided to continue with drinks. We began at Rags To Riches of Bay St. Louis, where we sipped delicious beer. Then, we headed to Hen House, where we enjoyed specialty cocktails.

This was followed by a golf cart ride on the beach, where we admired the beautiful skies and houses overlooking the water. Then, it was time for dinner. We ended our long day at Cuz's Old Town Oyster Bar & Grill, which is conveniently located in the heart of downtown.

After this, we decided we had made the most of our day, so it was time to return to the Airbnb. We spent our time watching a movie and building a Lego set. This was super fun and entertaining; I highly recommend the activity after a busy day.

The following day, we ate breakfast at The Mockingbird Cafe, where I enjoyed a delicious hashbrown bowl. Their coffee was also excellent. After breakfast, we rode our golf cart a bit longer before turning it back in. I wish we had more time in this city, which has such great charm. Next time, we will stay for two days. I left Bay St. Louis with lasting memories and a strong desire to return shortly.

Every moment spent exploring hidden corners, savoring local flavors, and engaging with friendly residents only deepened our appreciation for this charming coastal town.
